Default Pike waters South Wales

Following on from the Pike waters south east thread does anyone have any advice for Pike fly fishing venues in the South Wales area. I live close to Caerphilly but the Castle waters there are closed to fly fishing (Pike or Carp). My local reservoir Ynys-y-fro is closed for the winter season so I'm at a bit of a loss as to where to fish. If this is sensitive information please pm me rather than post on the open forum. It's a side of fly fishing I'd like to get into but I'm unaware of suitable venues, many thanks

Hi Gizmo,
Glamorgan Anglers offer a good number of pike venues, they're having a pike skills day soon for club members.

The docks are full of pike, Merthyr AA havevery good piking at Pontstick and there's Llangorse lake too, all very easily reached from your neck of the woods.

Merthyr Tydil A A have access to pike fishing on Ponsticill and Dolygaer reservoirs and Ibelieve fly fishing for the pike is allowed.I live not far from Merthyr Angling Centre and can pop in and have a word with Carl(prop)as he sells permit for the club.Let me know and I will have a word and then post or pm the details to you if you like.
Steve.

Thanks for the offer Stevie, I've checked online and I can get a day ticket to fish Pontsticil. I also seafish with a chap from Merthyr who has only just revealed he was a club member and has fished it often(). So it looks like Ponstsicil is the go, many thanks lads for your help.
