Default Pike waters in South East

Can anyone recommend a good mid sized (bank rather than boat) pike water in the south east? After catching three between 3-6lb on a local trout water today I'm keen to hunt for something a bit bigger without having to pay a fortune to take out a boat!

Thanks,

N

Think rivers, Arun, the drains on Pevensey marsh etc, could be close to you? cheap season tickets, the resovoirs would be very tough going from the bank!

Thanks chaps.

Peter - have you fished Pevensey marsh? most of the area I can find on google seems to be a no access nature reserve - where are the available fishing spots?

chub1 - have you fished weir wood? I was put off by the seemingly very high prices to go and fly fish for the pike (£25 min per day, if you have a boat partner, I don't, so £50..) - which you appear to be only able to do on set pike fly days? Any first hand info on Weir wood piking much appreciated, as it is very close to me

Thanks for the replies,

N

Have a look a Southdown Angling association, just had a quick search, plenty to go at, I,ve never fished there, but saw enough some years ago to keep it in mind!

You'll find that pike fishing is getting more and more sought after. I have heard some of the better known pike waters are charging £100 per day - not trout waters, specialist waters.

Pikers WILL pay more than trouters, provided there are fish to catch.

I know a lake near me that's council owned, about 5 acres in size and holds some v big pike and carp, It's free to fish but un-fishable from the bank. If anyone has a small boat and fancies it pm me. And no I'm not giving away the location
