Traws lake has a long distinguished history as a trout fishery.

Shortly after the millennium pike were unofficially introduced to the lake.

With an abundance of protein on the diet pike have grown quickly, local fly anglers, including several teenagers are by now catching pike in excess of 20Lb.

This 'pike week' is a trial to gauge interest/value in offering pike angling on a more regular basis.

So great when on holiday in Porthmadog this year i drove all the way up to the lake hoping to fish for pike with the fly but I got a very frosty reception from a very rude fishery manager!

I said my peice and made off and went fishing else where.

Thanks for the heads up but when i am on holiday in Wales again next year i wil not be back.
