Smile September Roach

Hi Guys

Popped up the Forth & Clyde canal last night, first time ive been up for month's, since ive become obsessed with River dry fly

Weapon of choice 9' 3wt Vision Cult, result bagged 3 Perch lost 2,6 Roach no monsters but very pretty.

Pulled the fly out of the mouth of two Roach both around the 1 lb mark !

Also got snapped off by the smallest Pike ever about 4" nailed a size 18 bloodworm but the 1lb mono was not match for its teeth It sat still then moved its bottom jaw around then spat my fly our !

Only took one photo, not the biggest but "Perfect"

Well done Englander nice little roach you have there. Shame you never landed the bigger ones would of been a great photo. It is a good time to catch roach now as they are getting ready for winter, I caught a big one on a size 10 black pennel once wish I had taken a photo!

I take quite a few whilst working my local brook, specifically targetting trout/grayling, but I've had roach, perch and gudgeon take my flies! Adds to the fun.

Had this one a couple of weeks ago, put up a nice short scrap on the #3:
