Default what flies for winter carp?

Having just read Skateboards thread i fancy a go at this. what flies apart from bloodworms should I take. any tips on rod and leader length and strength welcome. If i get the nod to try this where i'm planning to it may yield a big un - hopefully!!

Caster, add some epoxy buzzers and a few beadhead nymphs, that is all you need.

However unless you plan to fish a heavily stocked commercial fishery I would forget carp until the trout fishing goes down hill in July and August. Much more fun then and mostly on dries otherwise it can be heart break fishing depending on your venue.
