Default Doe Park Res, Keighley

I notice that there are pike in this water. But is it worth fly fishing there for the fish?

Default Doe Park...or not

Doe Park will be a daunting task for some one who has no knowledge of where the pike lurk in the winter months....but you wont learn by not going ....the time spent fruitless will at least tell you the areas that dont hold fish.

Alternativly.....try Rayghyll in Lothersdale....ring Bernard and ask how the top lake is fishng for pike....you should find a positive answer.
If its no good on the day(which it shouldnt be) then you can pay by the hour so no great fortunes lost. Not thats its dear anyway!

I have been to Raygill once or twice for trout. Nice fish there.....

And I hear when they cleared out a lake, the found a BIG pike there.

Don't think I am going there to pay for fishing when I have spent enough money on Bradford No1 and Bradford City club memberships.

I walked along the dam on the Reservoir and I found a nice casting place, in the corner next to the dam, might have a go when I have some experience of fly fishing for pike, unless I change my mind about fishing for them.

Thanks for the reply!

Default Pike ...no pike

Raygill top lake is stocked with pike and trout...the pike eat the trout growing nice and big......ie to 30lb plus ... the point being it wasnt just one fish.once ..its now a feature of the fishery....

Doe Park on the other hand had a massive fish kill a few years ago and is an unknown quantity to me ......are there the numbers of silver fish to support the pike?...Are there any pike left? ...I certainly saw plenty dead ones after the kill.....If they have left it to recover naturally its a big water to hunt a handfull of fish......certainly worth a phone call to the secretary to enquire what the current sit rep is as the "book" was probably printed years ago..ie there may not be pike in the water nowadays

Would be interested in the reply!

When I get set up with my 'pike gear' I will have a trip to Doe Park and see if I catch any pike.

I renewed my club membership for Bradford City and No1 waters this afternoon. I asked the chap in Silsden about the pike in Doe Park, and he says that there are loads of them. I will have to have a go for them with my fly rod

I emailed the secretary a few days ago. I recieved a reply, and he said that there are lots of pike in the reservoir.

Where would one person locate the pike on such a big water?

I went fishing this afternoon for pike. It started off slow, then I moved places and I LOST A PIKE in weed. It was about 26" long!!!

I will be back when I get some more fly hooks.

I need a fly box for pike flies, Any advice?
