Default Thinking about fly fishing for pike.....

I have a 9ft Shakespeare Odyssey Fly AFTM 7-8 fly rod and size 8 saltwater fly line.

Would this be appropriate for pike fishing?

What wire traces should I use and how big?

Are there special traces for fly fishing or do we use the same ones as we do for coarse fishing?

I use: 2-4ft 40lb mono, 2-4ft 20lb mono, 6" 15lb tygerwire barrel swivel to the mono and large crosslock snap to the fly; total usually about 8' on a floater or 5' on a sinker. There are cheaper options to tyger wire, pre-formed traces or if you get the bug make up your own

I am now considering tying some pike flies which I have seen in the June 2006 issue of Fly Fishing and Fly Tying Magazine.

I'm looking for the following materials
  • H20 Slinky Fibre in colours white, black, orange, yellow, red, green
  • Flouro Fibre in orange and pink
  • Orvis Prismatic or Lureflash Eyes or similar
  • Partridge "Ad Swier" Pike hooks in size 6/0 and one size smaller.

If anyone knows where to buy these cheap then please tell me.

Does anyone know how much material there is in a packet of Slinky and Flouro fibre?

Thank you for the offer, but I don't know what size to use.

I also forgot to mention that I need some UV Fritz in pearl and maybe in black.
