Default Another F & C Roach

Hi Guys

Popped up the Canal on thursday with 9' 3wt Vision Cult to play with the Perch of which i caught 4 wee fella's

However while fishing a size16 (B110) Goldhead blood worm for the Perch a cracking Roach shot in and took it superb fight they really go nuts !

NOTE :This is the first Roach ive ever caught on a size 16 ! Up to now only ever caught them on size 18 flys ? Normally they mouth and reject any thing bigger than size 18 ??

Hi Englander, nice fish. Click the image to open in full size. I got this one on a size 10 sedge!! Just at dusk one summer's evening a couple of years ago. They really do fight like fury, and I wish I could find some bigger ones.

Nice fish!

How do you fish the bloodworm flies?

Let them sink to the deck and twitch along the bottom?

We catch a lot of roach over here, but i fish for them mainly in winter.. In summer they seem to prefer the smaller flies, but in winter time i fish only size 10's..
