Well it was an eventful day and didn't really start off the way I would have liked
I was setting up the rod and pushing the sections together , on my rod they have to be pushed really hard , the rod was still wet from the day before and my hand suddenly slipped and broke one of the eyes . I looked at the rod and the eye was gone , looked at my hand and saw a couple of mm sticking out the of my palm . Picture shows the wee bit I could see , I wondered where the rest had gone
Well it turns out that somehow it had gone into my hand , hit the bone and gone round it and was nearly out the other side of my hand ,I didn't know this until I had got hold of the couple of mm showing and went to remove , it was kinda freeeky to be honest as I slowly pulled and twisted the rest of it out

Not the best of starts to the day but stopped it bleeding finished setting up and went out fishing .....
I started in my usual spots with an inter line as is only about 15 feet deep. I picked up a couple of wee lads here like the one in the pic below ...
I then moved over deep water where it shelves down from 15 to 45 feet and had a couple of follows on the inter line but didn't hook up , after a while I went over to a sinker and started to pick up fish . I had run out of my usual spiral clip thinys and had to use some others , didn't go well !!
I was lucky to land the 2 best fish of the day as the clips had come undone and the fish were hanging on by the open clip and not the fly !! You can just make it out in the these pics ...
Here is a couple of random shots including the second best of the day , I didn't get any out of water snaps though of the best one as it fought hard so I never lifted it out . I ended the day with 14 Pike , nothing big though but still a good day ...

So as the sunsets on an eventful day ....
......some good luck , some bad luck , some lucky luck , 14 fish boated , few other follows , couple of lost fish including one that hit so hard and heavy it nearly had the rod off me !! and then took off hard and extremely fast but then came off !!
Not sure why I am not getting the bigger fish I know are there but I WILL find um and I WILL boat them , watch this space !!
