Hi Guys
Decided to target perch again to day in the Forth and Clyde canal, however as i wanted to play with sinking lines i had to bring the big gun 5wt Vision Cult

I was accompanied by Nigel AKA
Brit in the Bothy
Started off with Di 3 7ft leader of 8lb trilene and my sparkler Clouser, casting well away from the reeds along side a concrete wall i was hoping to contact perch rather than pikelets ................... got a thump pretty quick sadly yet another wee pikelet !
Now i changed to my pink wriggler again hoping to avoid the pikelets...............but first cast ..........this little fella nailed it !
Switched back to my sparkler clouser while Nigel headed off to another lock further up, i said im just going to have a cast or two over by that big rock.
First cast .................let it sink ................... than figure 8 with the odd pull line went tight as i lifted in all hell broke loose

cracking nerve racking fight still cant believe i got him through the weeds into the net, a lovely tail walking 22" pike
After untangling all the sinking line around my feet and in the bushes i had my second cast from the rock ..............cast out let it sink ...........fig8 plus the odd pull ..........."bang"

Different fight from this fish ? Could it be ? Oh yes ! A Perch !!! ............Finally !
Goes to show a size 6 Clouser aint to big for perch even a small one like this !
Another couple of cast resulted in yet another thump but this time sadly another pikelet
I called it quits there as id taken four pike and a perch from a very small area, so headed off to see how Nigel was doing.......................
Caught up with Nigel who was battling the gale force wind, he had not had a touch, however i lent him one of my sparkler clouser and that quickly changed !
Nigels first Pike from the Forth and Cylde canal and not a bad one..................he had another pikelet shortly after before we called it quits for the day.
A word of warning if you only want to target the pike please use wire trace !
