My first proper pike fishing trip today paid divedends.
I turned a fish then hooked a 12.5lber followed by a 8lb a 23lb and a 10lb on the last drift.
I hope my next trip is just as good but i doubt it.
I am a happy boy!

My mate (boat partner) throw every plug, lure, rapala,shad, rubber bait at them today but the fly was the only thing that caught.

My poor mate had no luck but he was genuinely happy to see me pull in fish after fish

Who would have thought that a fly could out fish all the modern plugs and soft baits that are around these days?

I dont think i will get another day like that again.

Halcyon days Munro, they come now and again, not often enough in my case, I had one a fortnight ago on the Eden, and before that was Tinto, 4x4lbers.
