Default Tench on the Fly (Hares Ear)

Last Friday I was out to fish the Aller, I took my 9 footer 6wt Sintrix reeled up an Intermediate Line with a Poly Leader and 0.17 mm Fluo Tippet and tied on a weighted Hares Ear Size 10. Armed with this Gear I strolled down a little along the Aller till I came to a nice curve with a little growing reed, I had that feeling that there must be fish, so I chucked out my Hares Ear let it sink and inched it back direct on the bottom. But nothing than reed, next cast went out a little further into the reed and after some inches it gave a tuck and immediately I lifted the rod and was into a fish..after a short battle I could lead the fish to the net and there I saw that it was a tench! Lively green and feisty So the season can go on...Click the image to open in full size.

yes, I was targeting Carp or Bream, because in Springtime the reed isn't high but start growing, so it's easy to cast a fly into the reedbed. For me it is very delightfull to fish for other species to see what can be caught on fly, but a tench is something special for me and that is why I like Flyfishing so much
