Smile leeds liverpool fly fishing

I might have a go on a stretch of the leeds liverpool canal near Burscough, if anyone knows where that is? it isn't one of the best places bu i've caught some nice bream and roach coarse fishing.

So i was thinking of fly fishing there for maybe roach, perch and maybe even a nice bream, but i don't have a massive selection of flies, so i'll list the ones i think might work:

A red san juan worm.
A similar one to the san juan worm but shorter and made of a harder material that is on the hook shank.
A black buzzer very similar to this one

I also have a white and yellow cats whiskers which might work for perch and pike?
Also a small black goldhead with a green tail

I can't see myself catching many on dries, since i have never seen any decent sized ones rise

Try the cat pattern for the dogs, the mouse pattern for the cats, the grappling pattern for the old bikes and supermarket trolleys.

Why do this water when there are other better waters near by?

Have you tried the stillwater over near Dalton (is that your uncle's lake?)

Take the road towards Parbold Hill. At the roundabout after Newburgh, village turn right (towards Ashurst Beacon) and then first left. It is down that road on the left.

As far as I know - Brown, Rainbow and Blue Trout. It costs £10 per year to join and about £8 per visit. If you go in a shell suit - it is £280 to join and £45 per hour and a 15 year waiting list
