Default Fens trip...

Cracking trip down South last weekend to fish the drains on the last few days of the season. Took a few good Pike with the best going 21lb08oz and a nice Zander was the icing on the cake....

wow!
very nice fish sir!
well done

can i ask a couple of questions?
what set up did you use?
does your reel have a good drag on it or do you fight a big fish like a trout as usual?
I have never fished for pike yet! looks awesome.

peace

Dougie, for some reason I have never been able to drum up much enthusiasm for Pike, and while that one sure is a nice fish, the Zander really is something extra special, and a epic catch on the fly

PS....I am sure I have seen them flies, (and some folk still say they don't work) or something very much like them, somewhere before

Thanks for your kind comments guys. The Zander really are awesome looking creatures. My mate Paul had a bigger one just 20 mins after my catch, a cracker, also on the fly .

Brian - The people who say they don't work obviously ain't tying them properly
