Anyone one here fly fish on here for roach? i went last week aiming to catch anything and caught a really nice sized one on a small black midge like fly ( i dont know the technical names )
What flies work for anyone else on here? as i know there are quite a few nice roach there that i have caught coarse fishing

I used a small pheasant tail nymph and got a few small ones from a tiny pond near home. Now I need to tie up a few more in smaller sizes and some fine wire hooks!

If it swims I will try and catch it on the fly, coarse or game fish I respect them all! The pheasent tail nymph has caught me roach to, it is a very good general purpose nymph in my opinion. The one that works best for me has a gold bead on the head, the fly can be used in all sizes, tiny ones work well to.
It can be difficult and I have not caught many but it is good to catch them on fine tackle
