Thumbs up powan

hi guy's thought i'd show you a fish that not many folk in britain have seen or will ever see .i caught it today on carron reservoir it was about 2lb.
it is probably bigger than the current british record but it is protected and it went back.
it was a beautifull fish, and contrary to others opinion it fought reasonably well ,even jumping

Nice one mate! No chance of one of those down here! It's a fish I'd love to have a go for next time I'm over the border.

Sorry dave, iv'e wanted to catch one since seeing shoals of them smutting in Loch Lomond in the 60's when i was out seatrout fishing.they seem to be doing better in Carron than they did in Lomond.and are turning up in catches reasonably regularly.

Well done jim,I know quite a few guys in my circle who have caught powan from Carron (strange they all seem to be around the 2lb mark..?) but Ive never managed it yet.
However I did get one on a size 10 silver invicta on Loch Lomond years ago whilst chasing sea-troot.
I remember seeing a huge shoal of them swimming very close to the surface and we were wondering what they were.So I cast into the middle of them and hooked one in the jaiket.....by accident like....!
