advice on pike rod/line etc

Hi there,
Fancy doing a bit of pike flyfishing. What length/weight rod do I need? And any advice on a budget rod/reel for the job? Am I right in thinking a 9# and above or can I get away with my 8# Shakespeare expedition? Also live in South-east london so any advice on where to go much appreciated (do most of my trout at Syon/Coltsford Mill and arlington reservoir)

9# is probably the minimum weight you will want as you will be throwing big flies and wanting to get the fish landed with minimum fuss.
