Anywhere that you can gain access that has pike in it.......canal, lake/pond.....you'll know where the waters are better than people off the parish.

Long time since I fished in the area, but the canals always used to have lots of small pike. Debdale and the other reservoirs between there and Droylsden used to have plenty of pike. The Tame and the Goyt have produced some decent pike recently, I hear.

The canal around Marple used to produce quite a few Pike. It might be worth giving it a go. I'll call in at the tackle shop in Whaley Bridge on my way home tomorrow if I get chance and see if I can find any more info out for you.

Just steer clear of places the eastern Europeans have had their BBQs......there will be nothing left of any kind of fish.

Good luck Bill...if you really serious about pike on the fly, then join the PFFA, Pike Fly Fishers Association...you will learn more for your Ģ10 in year than many have picked up in 5 years doing it on their own.

Plus the opportunity to fish waters on an invite basis not available to the normal pike fisher, fly or otherwise. One day on one of these waters is worth the Ģ10 on its own. Then the information and friendliness of the Association comes for free.

Just type in PFFA...and google wil do the rest.

I've already found their website. A tenner sounds good value for what you describe.
