Default Any recommendations for books on brook/stream fishing?

Preferably books about fishing in the UK. I found a couple of things on archive.org but is there anything more uptodate people have come across and would recommend?

Thanks

John

Flyfishing-Tactics on small streams. By Lou Stevens 1988. Although Mr Stevens is Canadian most of the book is about uk streams and small rivers. The flies he talks about are all the usual suspects. Worth a look.

Thanks for the tip. I couldn't find a reasonably priced copy of the above title but got his 'Small Stream Dry Fly' very cheap.

Just for the section of food lanes alone: Small River Fly Fishing for Trout and Grayling by James Evans is in my opinion the best of the bunch. Available here:
JAMES EVANS: SMALL RIVER FLY FISHING. 1ST/1ST. V.GOOD+ on eBay (end time 02-Sep-10 15:19:35 BST)

Another personal favourite is Fly Fishing for Grayling by John Roberts
Available here:
Fly Fishing for Grayling by Roberts, John New Book on eBay (end time 02-Sep-10 22:40:31 BST)

Neglect DVD's by the better known fly fishers at your peril, as there are some real gems.

I think I shall have to save up the pennies for a copy of the James Evans book. Maybe an inter-library loan photocopy job instead.

I've seen that cheaper copies of the Lou Stevens book is the 1988 edition rather than revised edition. Is there much difference between them?

Although an old book, The practical angler by W.C Stewart is a wonderfull read, and is fairly easy to find on E Bay etc. Good advice that holds true through the years.
