Default After Big Game in the Upper Yukon

Does anyone own this book by Major Nevill Alexander Drummond?

I'd be interested in a review, worth buying, etc. The title, subject, and time period in which it was written make it sound of interest, but considering vintage editions by the original publisher are running $400+ in the US and Canada, I'd like to be sure.

Drummond made 3 hunting expeditions into the Yukon in 1914 and then again between the wars in 1925 and 1926. This book chronicles his adventures and I'd think it has to be interesting given that the Yukon of that time period was about as isolated as the moon.

I've read that there were reproductions of this book done in the UK in the 1980s, so if anyone owns one and is willing to part with it, let's talk.

I'm not familiar with the book but there are copies of the 1995 reprint on ABE from £35, which is a bit less risky than $400.

This sounds like sewinbasher territory to me…

Yorkio, thanks for the reply. I was thinking the same thing, Sewinbasher would be the likely suspect to have read this, but then again you never know.

Yes, $400+ would be a lot to part with sight-unseen, but it seems like only one edition (the first) was ever sold in North America, so most copies over here are of that vintage and are very expensive.

Good suggestion with the ABE site, but I'd still like to hear a review. Looks like basically what I've found on other bookseller sites here, copies in North America tend to be vintage at $250-500+ and then there was a decent reprint edition that was sold in the UK in the 80s or 90s and that's running about 50 pounds.
