Default Falkus Life on the edge

I've recently reviewed Chris Newton's biography of Falkus. The thread has pretty much been hi-jacked by 'the usual suspects'. None of them have actually read the book but all seem qualified to post utter drivel.
So rather than keep telling them to read the book I'm going to give someone the opportunity to borrow my copy and read it then post their thoughts on the thread so I will at least know someone has read it. Conditions are:

1. You must have 200+ posts
2. You return the book in the condition sent to you i.e. mint
3. You pay return insured postage (I'll send it free)

Usual suspects need not reply

DJ, its not hyjacked, its just responses to your 'utter drivel' how can you expect anything else when you cloud your opinion with bias.

What bias ? If your not willing to read the book stay off the threads. Simples.

If you haven't read the book then how can you know whether my opinions are valid or not ? You don't know what my partner or myself are basing or comments on. Therefore your opinions are worthless.

READ THE BOOK OR STAY OFF THE THREADS!

Hi, I always assumed the point of 'reviews' was to help the reader (of the revue) make the decision on what to spend his Waterstone's vouchers on.

Like books, there are good revues, bad reviews and advertising . . . and, as Charles Saatchi said, "I am touched that you think that advertising comes from the heart"

I'm sure the book is better than the review.

3p's worth?

DJ, your only interested in your opinion, and discussing with the few, if any, that agree, you search high and low for negative comments that support your peripheral opinion, this is more like a book club for cynical moaners that have read this one book.

left to your own devices your in danger of libel.

Offer has been accepted. The book will be winging it's way to Wales this weekend.

It will be interesting to compare notes with someone I know has read the book.

Here's a wee teaser: Did you know Falkus work at Sellafield Nuclear Plant ?

Falkus daughter '...Hugh's life is not one I wish to celebrate with champagne.'
Falkus son '... an act to the end.'

There's only two left on Amazon. Get in there quick.

It is amazing to think a man who nailed hundreds of large seatrout tails to his front door of his house over his lifetime... is most peoples idea of a seatrout fishing god

must say though they are a beautiful fish to eat... well the wild ones are anyway....
