Default Best/favourite Nymphing book?

Interested in learning more about the art/craft do you have any suggestions you may like to suggest?

Apologies if this question has been asked recently.

Thanks in advance.

Chris for running water its Frank Sawyer ,well chalkstream any way .
For still water I find Cove still the masterwork ,followed by Fraser and the remarkably good Brian Clark book
Guess they are a touch old hat but always worth a re read!

'Nymph Fishing' by Terry Lawton.

"A History of the Art and Practice" 2005 Swan Hill Press. It was £12 off at Coch-y-Bonddu.

The author covers the subject well and even has a Chapter on still-water.

Possibly the dullest book that has ever gone into print IMO.

It depends i guess on where you fish, i like the Stuff from the Czechs and Eastern Europeans, Celtic Flycraft have them, their name escapes me just now. I will dig it out later.

Only trouble with those is the appalling translation..sometimes total gobbledygook.

It's the same with climbing and other adventure books..try reading Nansen's book..Farthest North, I thik it's called. The translation is "literal" with no thought given to the "meaning".
