Default Book collections

My wife has started to comment about how many fishing books drop through the door each week. I started to collect them about a year ago and already had a small selection before that, I was wondering roughly how many books some of you guys have. This is mostly to deflect attention away from myself and to show mrs tickle I don't actually have a problem. I don't want to start a mines bigger than yours debate. Also what finds are you most proud of? JB

Thanks to you Jon, I now have two more, they arrived safely this morning, and I can't wait to read them.
Very fast postal service that, must be a record.
Cheers Steven.

Used to have dozens. Including coarse, sea and shooting books.
Pretty much shifted all of them and have kept my game fishing books only.
Still collecting fly tying books though. Have to slip them in under the radar mind you
If I buy a second hand book, and she spots it, it is no problem as I can say I have had it for years and just taken it down from the loft

I seem to have accumulated quite a few but I guess I reference 95% of them over the course of the year but am trying to cut down this compulsion and failing badly!

Why do we keep so many? and then when I walk in to a shop and see a book on fly fishing or relative to fly fishing, I very often end up buying it! charity shops are the worse; I always find something on fishing and end up buying, especially if it's a bargain! I am now looking for books related to River and Stream fly fishing by British authors! Any recommendations? I like reading about fishing adventures; and of-course the stories they have to tell, the funny anecdotes and the melancholic meanderings of time spent fishing! I love to hear of the environment where the author has encapsulated some of it's beauty or ruggedness in to his writing.

I like some of the angling books bye the American authors; but all the fishing is done across the pond!

Looking for British! Any recommended?

You could try
Trout Fishing on Hill Streams by Richard Clapham
Fishing a Highland Stream by John Inglis Hall
Trout Fishing in Brooks by G.Garrow Green

Another two which I have been looking for myself are 1st ed of The Rough Stream Nymph by W.H.Lawrie and also The Art of Trout Fishing on Rapid Streams by H.C.Cuttcliffe

Are there any of the above that you have read; and would highly recommend?
Books on river and stream fishing with a bit of a story to keep the interest going, always appeal.

I have just the one copy of "The Compleat Angler" but I wouldn't be without it! Master & Student - both Gentlemen of the Angle! An historical look at what it was like and how the people perceived their angling during that period.

You must also be a fan of the book! Especially as you have 12+ copies!

I love it!
