Default Jon Swarbrick list of Wharfedale flies

Thought you may like to see some photos of Ken Smith Publishing company's latest print. It is a beautiful box containing a tiny book and separate book containing 30 hand tied flies. The size is 3in square or in new money 8cm by 8cm!!
Photos do not do justice to the quality but hope it gives some idea of edition.

It looks excuisite!

Are the publishers doing a version for guys that don't wish to spend that sort of money. Like a 'bog' standard version or something?

Yes, there 130 copies bound in Compton marbled paper with an original fly mounted inside front and back boards in a slipcase for £64.
The special copies as can be seen contains 30 flies housed in an oak box made by Stephen Byrne

Thanks Salmo thinking of placing an order for the junior edition.

Cheers

Default Thought provoking ...

I would love to be given either the standard or deluxe limited edition as a gift, but not sure if I would buy them.

At £64 (plus £3 postage) for the standard edition I may have been tempted:
A LIST OF WHARFEDALE FLIES 1807

However, the Deluxe edition at £485 (plus carriage) seems rather a lot to me, but then there are a lot of 'Special Editions' that sell for that sort of money.
Deluxe Limited Edition
The presentation is nice but the flies are only modern copies of the patterns after all (I tell myself ). Desirable, but not really affordable for me.

Just a comment regarding the numbers of each issue:
There are 260 copies of the standard edition and 110 copies of the Deluxe limited edition for sale, half by each publisher.

Hi
Well Santa was good to me, I found the Standard Edition in my waders at the bottom of my bed.
Complete surprise! Although I had mentioned it I thought my wife was not listening.
To be perfectly frank I was surprised at the size and how much it cost but having read it I realised what a window into the past it offered me. Hopefully it will become a collectors item.

Happy New Year to all

Steve C

Thank you for posting Salmo. Just when I thought I had to many books . "Angling with the fly" also looks like an excellent read and future classic. JB
