Default Fogg - Wet Fly fishing

I notice that the author of a book that I have on Spiders has a new book out on wet fly fishing.

Think the authors name is Roger Fogg.

Anyone have it ? Any good ?

Roger Fogg has now released 3 books. The first was titled 'The Art of the Wet Fly'; the second titled 'A handbook of North Country Flies' and his latest, now available here:

is titled 'Wet Fly Tying and Fishing'.
Anyone interested in fishing spiders should have the first two.

Default Wet Fly Fishing

I purchased a signed copy of Roger's new book at the recent BFFI.

Not having read either of his previous books I was not sure what to expect. I had hoped that this book would bring together/update his previous writings and hence saving the expense of trying to obtain copies of his earlier works.

It's not a bad book, but I can't help feeling a little underwhelmed having had a quick read through it (although I haven't explored all the fly patterns yet).

Perhaps I need to read it again over Christmas to do it justice.

Brian,
His first two books are very good and dedicated towards North Country traditions. I guess it is difficult to keep writing and to introduce new insights.
Like you I need to go back over it.

Cheers all.

Phil, I have the "Handbook of North Country Spiders "

Excellent book.

Unfortunately not sure if the rivers near me suit Spider fishing !
