Default the complete angler

I have recentley acquired a copy of the complete anger by isaak walton with a preface by richard le gallienne, dated 1896.
I would be interested to hear anything about this copy and its potential worth.

You could try contacting Hereward Books Jamie (01353 740821). According to their latest catalogue they have over 100 different editions in stock. They should be able to give you some idea of the value.

Hi there. There are over 500 editions of the compleat angler . I dont have any specific value for your copy but copies that late tend to only have any substantial value if they are in pristine condition or have exceptional illustrations ie the Rackham editions . But agree with the earlier post ref hereward books. I have about 20 yrs worth of their catalogues I will try and have a look through them, Who was the copy published by?

I have a copy of Charles Thacher's bibliography that recorded every collectible transaction that occurred between 1999-2006.
The 1896 Le Galliene version transacted between $50 and $800 with the latter in original 13 monthly parts. It came in a tan linen clamshell case. Most others were lowly priced in biege/grey linen on board covers.
