I've got the exact same book, in mint condition.
Grayling the book dealer in Cumbria, valued it at £50 five years ago.
I have no intention of selling it though.

Mine's more than 'slightly foxed' but it's not for sale!

I've got a slightly foxed copy of this excellent book as well.

Still contains loads of good advice (watercraft never goes out of fashion) and Mr. Crabtree fly fishes for dace, chub and rudd as well as trout and grayling.

It's a fantastic book to read on a winter's evening with a glass of whisky in hand.

I wore my original out through constant reading, it was received for my birthday in 1959 and, although I still have it, it is falling to bits. I bought another copy in good condition last year which I now look after carefully.

I also have a Pfleuger Multiplier that I bought from Bernard Venables and which may well have been the model for the drawings of plug fishing for pike in the book.

That's a nice story SB, bit of provenance there.

Great find/gift for you Shark. A real classic.

I recently bought the reprint of this book for the Grouselet. I just thought it was something that the boy would enjoy, mind you when he's just a little older. In the meantime it's a great read for me.

At the same time, I picked up a copy of The Dangerous Book for Boys for the Grouselet. I like to buy these when I see them or think of them so that when the boy is older, they're already on the shelf for him.

Blast you, I am going to have to dig it out and read it again now, that's got me going.
Lovely stuff wasn't it, much better than Xbox weekly, or whatever rubbish they sell these days.
