Default Rereading a good one

Have just read (again) 'The LongestSilence' by Thomas McGuane - the best for quite a while! I thoroughly enjoyed his way of communicating - it certainly connected with me. Altogether a wonderful book, committing a lifetime of fishing memories to paper for the enjoyment of the rest of us.

I think it is one of the best books I have read on fishing but strangely several colleagues have struggeld with it. Seems to be a marmite character; you either love it or hate it

Yep I'm one of them G, found it hard going, and it's not a book I would bother to read again.
Just read Gierach's, "Death Taxes and Leaky Waders", and TBH it too was hard work, he talks about everything but fishing, half of the time.
Some of it is OK, but it just doesn't flow for me at all.
I have read his other books as well, but struggled with them.
Some love him, not me I'm afraid.

In need of another book, so apart from my normal, thrillers, espionage and crime novels.. Another book on fishing.

Ordered from Amazon, not for the kindle, need a proper book for Xmas in the USA, some quiet time needed..

Funny you should mention it, I was reading some pages on Amazon only last night and really enjoyed it. Well apart from the fact that just as the story developed the next page wasn't there . Think I'll have a crack at it as well-thanks for reminding me.

Chris.
