Default Foremark Fly Fishers Winter Programme

Happy New Year folks,

Foremark Fly Fishers kick off their winter programme this coming Monday the 9th January.

Monday, January 9th: Mick O'Farrell; Wet and dry fly fishing on reservoirs and big waters. Mick is a well known and respected Irish angler and has just written his first book. Guaranteed an excellent evening.

Monday, January 16th: Skittles Night (Possibly at the Coutry Cottage Tavern, Byrkley Street, Burton.)

Monday, January 23rd: Rob Edmunds. Last year Rob had rave reviews after his appearance. Talk is on reservoir fishing but beware, Rob does not hold back and will tell you everything you want to know!

Monday, January, 30th: Ian Colclough. Current member of the England team and Blithfield Reservoir as well so he is a local man and is more than keen to offer his advice on anything to do with team or individual fishing at the highest level.

Monday, February 6th: Ray & Wendy Gibson: Wendy is a close member of the club and always welcome to show just what she can do with the fly tying vice. She is the top lady fly tyer in the country and is well experienced at coaching anglers who have just started tying their own flies to those who are more than accomplished.

Monday, February, 13th: John Watson. John is a former local headmaster and this will be his second visit to the club. He is a river angler, speciallising on the River Dove and has just written his second book. That is based on Roger Woolley, a man who used to tie flies in his hands. Roger came from Hatton so his talk will be on his life and how he became one of the most acclaimed fly tyers in the country.

Monday, February, 20th: Skittles Night. (possibly at the Burton Bridge Brewery, Burton on Trent)

Monday, February 27th: Barry Grantham. Specialises at rod building and reel building and he will be demonstrating just how it is done.

Monday, March 5th: Phil Holding. Phil is a specialist on North Country Spiders and he will be explaining exactly what they are and how they can be used on reservoirs and not just rivers.

Monday, March 12th: James Roache and Ifor Jones. James is Regional Development Officer for the Angling Development Board and will be explaining what the Board is doing to develope angling in the area.
Our second speaker is Ifor Jones, very well known to all of the club members as he runs Foremark Reservoir as well as Thornton and Draycote Reservoirs. He will be explaining exactly what is planned for the reservoir that season.

That's it and hopefully is a programme that covers most aspects of fishing and all anglers are welcome to join in.

All of the meetings are held at the John Thompson Inn, Ingleby and will start at 7.45pm sharp.

There will be a break at around 9pm for food, refills and a raffle and we aim to finish at 10-10.30pm.

Membership is £20 per season and that covers entry to all of the guest speaker evenings and entry into all of the friendly club fishing competitions that are held throughout the season.

If you don’t wish to become a member then you can attend any meeting for just £3 each on the door.

Please see The John Thompson Inn & Brewery - Home for details of the venue for the meetings and Foremark Fly Fishers - Redirection Page for more details on the club.

Cheers,

Jason
