As part of the Cumbria Fishing Festival we are running a fly casting faults and fixes evening on High Newton Reservoir, South Cumbria on Friday 20 May starting at 6.00pm.

The evening is aimed at anglers with some casting experience and will cover demonstrations of many casts and the various faults that are made in performing them and how to correct the faults. Very much a hands on event.

If you get tailing loops (wind knots), catch the bank behind or yourself, can`t cope with awkward winds, want to learn how to haul or double haul etc then you would benefit from coming along. You never know you may even learn some new casts.

The great news is that the 3 hours only costs £10 including the High Newton permit which alone costs £18 so this is a terrific value opportunity to improve your casting. We even give you some notes to take away about good casting practice.

Still room for this evening and the wind is now supposed to ease. Its hands on and only £10. You will be shown the main casts, the faults anglers make and how to correct them. There will be plenty of time to improve your casting or even learn a new cast etc as it will be a hands on fun event.
