If you live anywhere near Perth, Lancaster, Sportfish Reading or Lechlade then you should definitely take the chance to meet and watch one of the greatest casters of our generation, Steve Rajeff, who is touring the country this week demonstrating the G.Loomis range of rods where he is Director of Research and Development.

He is a multiple world champion caster and will be joined by other G.Loomis pro-team members like Andy Murray to demonstrate and help with balancing your own setups. Free entry to all venues so do take advantage of this if you can.

Thank you very much for posting this thread......, i have tried to make the Forrest Hill event { today }.

Unfortunately i have found the fishery to have fallen short within areas of preparation.......... and now sadley i have had to cancel.
I have tried to make contact with the fishery today but have been unable to do so, even left a mess. with my details but no reply.
I have re arranged things at my end to get there but feel let down by the fisheries lack of knowlege and failure to reply.
Events like this should be managed in a way to encourage anglers to attend.
Maybe i've been unlucky.......

Thanks to admin on this forum we got notified of today`s Forrest Hill event .

My wife & I have fished the venue occasionally so knew how to get there etc. Its a shame you had the problems as there were some wonderful casting demos and a large range of tackle was on display for anyone to use. Very impressed with the new range - tried the 9` #7 and the 9` 5. Very light with lovely progressive power and suited our casting syles.

Plenty of assistance on hand from Steve, Rafael and Andy who were extremely helpful. The only downside was that the sessions wound up by just after 4.00pm as very few turned up around this time.

All in all a not to missed session by some of the world`s finest casters who put everything across in a very simple understandable way. Steve even took the trouble to show me some different casts on the #5 rod and within moments I was was into it !!

Hi Bob,

Great to see that you had a good day....., that was one of my main corcerns, getting there late on and missing out.

It really is a shame that the turn out was poor !, this can often be the case in flyfishing/casting day's......... maybe people don't want to learn.. i don't know....

I would have loved to have met Steve and taken in as much as i possibly could.......... i've definately lost out now.........

And all for free !!............. would have got a fishing ticket and finished off the day on the lake.........

Still very displeased with the owner for not being on the ball.

Watching him stand 1/2 way along the car park and stick a cast on the roof of the 2 storey Sportfish building was something else.

He's always been a hero of mine. Given the nice weather I was surprised by the low turn out.

Go on, rub it in Tomo.............

I went to the Lechlade one last Sunday.

A very useful afternoon and there were around 20 'punters' there.

I'd never seen double handed tournament casting before............
