Default Flydresser magazine

The winter issue of the magazine has gone to the printers and we hope will be delivered by the end of next week. The delay was due partly to the resignation of editor Terry Griffiths. Our thanks go to Terry who produced over 50 issues of the magazine and has taken it forward year after year.
A new editorial team will take control for the spring issue.

I'm sad to hear that Terry has departed. Big boots to fill, but I wish the new team every success.

Hi,

I have just become a member and received my Mag a couple of days ago.

There are comment about the high cost of producing the magazine.

Is it worth considering canvasing the members about issuing the magazine as a .pdf file that can be downloaded from the FDG website?

Members would have the option of saving it on their PC or printing it.

Those members that do not have PC or would prefer a hard copy would be able to continue to do so.

John,

There should have been a questionaire in your envelope with the Flydresser, asking those very same questions.

Regards

Already get two 'on line' and it works a treat. But what this would do is greatly expand (at little additional cost) your potential reader base (out side of the UK).

As Chris mentioned, the Winter edition of Flydresser included a short questionnaire, the first question being along the lines of "would you be happy to receive Flydresser electronically instead of by post?".

We've already had two responses - one by post first thing this morning, and another delivered by hand this afternoon. A BIG thank you to both those members, and to any others who have already sent their responses back.

The EC wants to hear back from as many members as possible - ideally all of you! So, please dig out the questionnaire from the packaging (a single white A5 sheet, might have got stuck to the sheet with your address details) and send us your answers as soon as possible (10th Feb at the latest).

Why don't you use the poll facility on these forums? It's quicker and easier. Names and membership numbers can be PM'd to validate votes.

Or

My answers are:-

1) No
2) Yes
3) 4 (I'd prefer 6)
4) No
5) No preference
6)Yes
7) N/A
8) No

Name and number available by PM if required.

Thanks for the suggestion, Gander! At the time we set up the questionnaire, we hadn't even thought of setting up the forum, and I wasn't aware of this facility. Let me look into it over the weekend and put forward the suggestion to the EC and I'll post an update on this in the next few days.

Any other suggestions on how to make best use of technology are more then welcome - we're still very much feeling our way around this, but we're keen to learn and make the most of it!
