I've had some queries about Abel reel -- it is finished in matte-black -- made in USA -- unported (no ventilated holes in frame) -- has been used (and caught more than few fish); has slight scratch on rim of spool from where it was laid down.

OK I really want to sell off this outfit -- I have a T&T Paradigm 9 ft. 5wt. with an Abel Super 5 reel and another T&T Helix 9ft. 4wt. with a Ross Vexsis #1.5 reel; and just bought a sweet T&T 2wt for a great price; so I love T&T rods -- but have had some bills from Xmas come in and need to thin out the herd to pay off these debts -- had some queries, but no sale yet -- so I'm motivated -- I'll accept $300CDN ($245US or 170 British Pounds) for rod and $225CDN ($185US or 125 British Pounds) for reel (with GPX line) -- or $525CDN ($430US or 295 British Pounds) for package

It seems to be the same with Beulah rods, I picked up my brand new 9' #8 on eBay for £60 posted!

excotic brands dont seem to do terribly well in the Uk, only the tried and tested well known brands seem to shift well.

Great for those who enjoy this more niche market but bad for those trying to sell them.

Good Luck though.

I realize this is a bit of a niche market perhaps -- and obviously not as aware as I could re pricing in UK -- so I've finetuned what I'm seeking -- will accept $500 CDN OR 280 British Pounds for complete outfit (rod/reel/line) -- separately I will accept $280 CDN OR 155 British Pounds for T&T rod -- and $220 CDN OR 125 British Pounds for Abel reel with line -- shipping extra

P.S. I'm hoping these sell soon (don't we all?!?!? LOL LOL) -- I'm trying to generate some more cash for trip to southern USA (going for FFF certification in March) -- and deal with some bills before I head off (can't have credit cards maxed out before I leave -- just in case of emergencies LOL LOL) --planning on leaving as soon as possible (by Jan. 25th at latest) so if anybody is seriously interested then PM -- prices are firm and shipping is extra -- I'm in Canada -- not sure what expense involved in shipping -- would depend on method of shipping -- but don't believe there is any extra cost such as import duty or other taxation since equipment is used

'fraid that's not true Mike..you pay duty even if anything is used or even a gift, for that matter. Duty is about 20% of the value+shipping charge. Shipping of rods from across the pond is about USD35/40.

Your prices are fair but shipping and import taxes may well be why you are struggling.

AND remember you pay VAT on the item, duty and postage costs! (Mr) Darling
