Continuing on from my Green stick collection disposal is a 5 piece Winston XTR 9' #8 and an Abel Big Game #2 in the original coral high gloss black.
Both items have been used sparingly and in immaculate condition.
The XTR was Winston's entry into the fast saltwater rod market, and this rod was designed for eXTReme conditions featuring a fast tip and strong butt and used their first generation boron composite; it was designed specifically to handle lots of wind, big flies, shooting heads and sinking lines. They were designed to make long casts with minimum false casts, and pick up large amounts of line from the water.
The Abel #2 is the original model produced by Steve Abel in the normal arbour, and despite this fact, it's still a great reel. It is for 7 to 9 weight lines and holds an 8wt line with 275 yards of #20 micron. It has the square tooth drag plate, so it can be user converted from LHW to RHW, and a silent line out as originally produced.
They would make a great saltwater sinking line fly outfit thowing lines like a Teeny 350-400 with ease, or a pike fly outfit to throw those chicken sized flies to monster pike.
