I have FOUR (4) of these listed on eBay in addition to the Gem 9' #6 Rod and the complete Gem Mk1 5/6 Reel. Spare spools for the Mk1 Gem are very hard to come by...so I hope that listing them may be helping someone acquire some.

I would change the wording on your ad as these aren't Gem Mk1 spare spools, these are GEM spare spools

The Gem Mk1 was produced between 1961 and 1969

I agree, Hardy calling the sucessor to the Gem the Gem MkII has caused much confusion! As you say these are for the modern Gem that was superceeded by the Gem MkII.
