Irish Dane is on a distinguished road
Default Pictures of Seatrout

Well, there's one for browns and one for rainbows, so there ought to be one for seatrout too....

Here's a nice little fella from last night in the harbour...was an unbelievable take, saw him coming rocketing up from about 3 feet under the fly!

Good one Irish Dane!

Hopefully I'll have a few to add soon when they start running. In the meantime here's a bruiser from last season, 13lb 2oz, fish was returned.

Lightbulb Small 'warning' Stu.

You're second picture with the fish laying on the grass ... DON'T POST that one on a US board noting the fish was 'then released.' You'll re-define the term 'flack coming your way.' Think over Germany circa 1943.

My guess is you were fishing a run with a steep (if not quite close to straight up/down) bank with no beach at the base. That will 'cut no ice' with folks over here as you laid the fish on grass (or gravel for that matter) to take the photo.

Actually, many States prohibit removing a fish from the water that's to be released. Some ease up on this but do insist that the majority of the fish be left in the water for the 'photo op.' Interesting part (I did some research on this just a few days back) is Oregon has no such requirement, but it is expected as a mater of fishing 'etiquette.'

I'll bear it in mind Fred. Would it have been acceptable if I had dispatched the fish by blowing a hole in its head with my 'good ol Smith & Wesson' while cheering "YEEEHAAAA"?

Good to know, I've been putting photos up in the Washington forum. Thing is, I see loads of photos of tiny native trout on the grass next to rods, carp on gravel, etc. You mean to tell me that these fish were NOT released? This is a polite question, I'm not trying to be polemical, as they would say in Italy .
