Thumbs up Carry On up the Trossachs.

Cap'n Fishy and I went up for a day on our club water yesterday. The forecast was not too favourable, nowhere near as spring-like as opening day on the Lake last weekend....but what the hey, its been a long winter.... There was no sign of the early duck-fly hatch so we resigned ourselves to having a pull, rigging up with type 3 sinkers and a mixed team of something weighted on the point with trads and small mini-lures on the droppers..

The usual drifts were proving unproductive apart from the odd straggler and it
took us a couple of hours before we found a concentration of fish in the bright and breezy conditions. Once we found them, the action was fairly hot and we were catching a right old mixture. Wild and stocky browns, wintered rainbows and this years rainbows, a nice wee blue and one of last years tigers just for good measure....
At least half of the takes were coming just as the flies turned the corner and were heading up to the boat, or on the hang itself.
Stand out patterns on my team were the hot-head damsel and No6 Dunkeld.

Default Tiger bites man... and lives!

Aye, ye have captured the Baltic conditions well there, lad. That coat I bought in the sale would do Sir Ranulph Twissleton Thingumy ffeinness on his next trip to t'Arctic. You also captured the pectorals on that rainbow well - they were getting on for those on a flying fish!

Here's the shots I took of your tiger...

It gave Jimmy a nip as a thankyou for his troubles. Being a cross beteeen a brookie and a broonie, it's dentition was quite impressive!

Here's the lad himself with one of the new stock of broons - plenty fat on them anyway.

Having seen his entry in the book about a tiger (and a blue), I was about to e-mail CapnFishy, exposing my ignorance, and asking what the fook a tiger was?

Now I know.

Hmmmm. Looks a bit like a ling.
