Default Photo Hosting Help-Please!

Hi All,
Recently I needed to wipe the hard drive on my lap-top! Anyhow, before that I used PhotoShack as the hosting programme for posting photos etc! So, I've just reinstalled it! But it has been re-vamped; and unfortunately, I have failed to find out how to use the new free version! Can anyone recommend a simple to use (and I mean simple to use) free photo Hosting programme? Thanks

Mostyn

6 months ago I would have said photobucket.com, however they have made it more complicated to use of late. It's okay if you grew with it and I like it for 1Mb size photos.

Flikr is Yahoo's free photo hosting service and is nice and easy to navigate. Give it a try.

I'm not sure what you mean, Mostyn. Photoshack is a photo hosting website, it isn't on your hard drive. You login to the site with your name and password and then navigate to where your album is. All your photos should still be there and you should still be able to upload new ones and share them.

That's what I thought! But they would not accept my old email address or password! Eventually I re registered! But it's a pain to use under the new format; and I'm not the greatest of computer users! I find it difficult enough to post photos at any time! Some of my photos have been retrieved from the camera! Lucky for me I hadn't deleted them!

Thanks E, is Flickr suitable for Tiscali or is it only for the specific IP? I shall have a look at it!

Thanks

You can use flickr with any ISP Mostyn, it makes no odds who you're with.

My sig is a flickr account if you want to have a mooch. It's really easy to use, just set up an account and away you go. If you're facing any specific problems just PM or post and we'll try and help.

Stuart,
just had o look at your photos; and I must say your photography skills are far superior to mine! (I love the photos BTW) Children playing, our feathered friends and mother nature with her winter coat on! Thanks for letting me see them! Quality photos! I like the look of flick-r and it has a tutorial! Do I need to get rid of Photoshack before uploading Frickr? Thanks for the help; I'm not really up on a-lot of computer jargon!

Regards

Mostyn

No you don't have to get rid of one for the other Mostyn. I've got an imageshack account and a flickr account. I tend to use imageshack for the forum and flickr to upload my better pics to.

Flickr is really easy to use. Create an account then upload your pics. When you want to insert one in the forum just open your flickr page, hover the pointer over the pic, right click and choose "copy image location" then just paste that in the "insert image" window when your posting.

Thumbs up

Stuart, you forgot to mention image size choice.

I hope you don't mind me using one of your images as an example; easy peasy on Flickr.
