Great photos Gander!
Easy to forget how hard this cold spell has been. Is the whole loch frozen over?

As Aenoon says, "Nearly". There were a few patches far out, but as far as I could see, it looked about 99% coverage.

am off out up there later today for a wee peak. as it has been colder since. and just come off my weather web site and its saying this cold snap is to last and a possibility of worse to come, with a lot more snow as well as colder temps.

its -9 right now out side , but we keep getting thick thick cloud cover that just clears lol.

Good photos.

Is there a danger of a fish kill if snow lies on the ice stopping light reaching the plants and stopping oxygen production???

spoke to wuillie on wednesday ,he said although the ice was thick it was not good quality and advised against my walk over to the castle, im going to to wait till monday to try it.

temps are to rise to 2c and up to 5c over the next few days but dropping to -8 or more at nights again as i am also waiting to see if they say its safe to walk to the castle.
