Lovely fish John. Is that from the Canals in Miami? or is there a similar network of waterways around Orlando? Enjoyed the snook in the Everglades but missed out on the Redfish... next time, all the best!

Peacock Bass are hard fighting fish. The are quite territorial too, so they are aggressive on the fly. Each fish has its own unique colouring, and this one was exceptional.

Peacock Bass are found in canals of Miami, Fort Lauderdale and as far north as West Palm Beach. Beyond that they cannot survive, as if the water temperature drops below 60 Deg. F there is a fish kill. The hotter the water, the better the fishing. Seeing as how these fish come from the Amazon they like the constant Temperatures of Southern Florida. There are no Peacocks in Orlando.
