Default A nice Fly caught Carp

caught today at the Glen of Rothes trout and Coarse fishery,on a consett Budgie fly,by Andrew More,just started fly fishing .

Weighed in at 18lbs 2ozs

(Blood is from a hook he got in his finger after landing it)

Fish was safely returned to its rightfull place and swam away none the worse for wear.

Yes it was a shakespeare odyssey fly rod,6/7wt,okuma integrity reel with a cortland 333 fly line rated 7WF and a size 10 silver consett budgie.

wow, started off with salmon then trout then pike and now carp,

where will it end,

great looking fish,

That's a great looking carp - how they should look, with big shoulders and not a hint of a fast food (boilie) gut. Great effort to land it on trout gear.

Agreed - long lean commons are beautiful fish, nothing like the gut-bucket mirrors that so many waters rely on.
