Talking New PB and on barbless !

Hi Guys

Fished the Markle yesterday for the first time, nice place dispite the gale force winds. Took 3 fish from 4 bites all on barbless

I was using my new Cortland Endurance 9' 6# 4 piece rod, Vossler DC3 reel, i tied up a 12ft leader 10lb -6lb Berkly fluorocarbon joined with a 3 turn water knot which gave me my one dropper. Due to the very coloured water i started off with my green/black lure tied on Knapek barbless hook, and small naturals barbless on dropper.

My old PB was 5 3/4 lb smashed it yesterday with this stonker 9lb 11 oz not the prettiest fish and its tails seen better days, but i fought hard gave me a real run a round on the 9' 6# long runs, constant diving for reed beds, my nerves were shattered Luckily i normally try and play all my fish off the reel glad i did because i reckon i would have lost this fish as my line was constantly getting fouled up in bushes etc.

Believe it or not the fish at the bottom is 16" long and weighs 1 1/5 lb !!

Well done, nice to see the comparison with a smaller fish.
You will be eating fish for a while now, assuming you took it.

Lovely fish mate, if you'd got that in the tube it would have towed you around no problem!!
