Default Aquatic fish

Hi was wondering if a fish gets to be to big for a tank do the Aquatic shops buy fish back from you or mibee swap for other fish giving that the fish you are taking back is healthy. As I have 2 plecs in my tank one is around 5" long but the other is going on 7" to 8" long do they keep groing or is it true that the fish will only grow to the size of there environment surounding them would appriciate any advise if some one may have some cheers

Fish won't grow to the size of their environment. Keeping them in a small tank will just stunt them and they will die sooner. As for selling them Maidenhead Aquatics used to give credit notes, but now they won't give you anything for fish, although they'll probably make sure it goes to a good home. Other shops will probably give you something for it.

Nice hot pan, a squeeze of lemon, crisp green salad and some home made chips?

I was given 2 fish like that in a 3 foot tank . I think the person that gave then to me knew what was coming , they grew FAST !! One grew to 12" and the other 10" in no time . They started to fight and were doing a lot of rock moving . It was getting to the point they were going to smash the tank .
In the end I found a home for them with a fella that had the right sort of home for them . He put then out in a pond in the summer and they came indoors into a massive tank in the winter .

Might take some time to find the right home for these ( took me some weeks ) but do it now before it is to late

Shops should not be able to sell such fish IMO .

the lovely plecostomus which i had many of during my time keeping fish ,and i have been given a credit note for a few of them from aquarium shops in my neck of the wood (GLASGOW) they are very fast growing,, and when past a certain size can become a danger in smaller tanks with largish rocks as they can easily push them about creating small weaknesses in frame and glass, which can turn out to be costly ,u have me thinking of setting up a tank now (more money) nah i will just spend spare cash on fishing tackle.
