Default Loch Obisary, North Uist

One of my favourite Lochs on the trip. A saline/freshwater mix.

Nice fish there! Very interesting that you caught these from the same place! Assuming you did of course! And the brownies don't have a silvery colour. Hope you had a good trip

Really great. The best thing I can say about this thread is "I wish I was there".

Thanks for sharing.

I did indeed. I caught it a long way from the sea entrance to the loch so was thinking it was a huge brownie or something!! Both my droppers had been broken off so I must of had 3 on at once to begin with!!

Superb! Fished it in 2005 and had no idea it had pollack go up into it. Caught a sand smelt in Oban nam Fiadh though. The interesting thing with these lochs is the intensity of the buzzer hatch - billions of them where it is most brackish - buzzers obviously like salt in their porridge. Need to take your tackle in the shower with you when you get home though!

I like the one next door to Obisary - Loch of the 4 Islands.

You can get the ferry from Oban, but you are looking at five and a half hours to Lochboisdale (South Uist). You could go from Uig on Skye to North Uist in only an hour and three quarters, but Uig takes a bit of getting too.

Take a look at
