Danube River Catfish called a Silure in France. These things are now in nearly all major French rivers and fish up to 70 Kg are taken every year. The Rhone is one of the hot beds of fishing for Silure but they have now been reported in the Moselle River only a few miles from the Luxembourg border near Metz. Surprised to see someone fishing for them on a fly rod though! I think the official world record is somewhere around 110 Kg and 2m 60 for a fish caught in Spain this summer but there are rumours of fish in Russia which go up to 300 kg. Anyone feel like going for a swim in those waters?
