Here is a picture of a scruffy old girl from Sheelin caught by Tony Harton L.S.T.P.A. the other night . I dont know tony but i am sure he will not mind the picture put up in here as it has been posted all over the place . I just thought i would put it in here for those who have not seen it .
The actual weight is not known but it is put at 10 lbs + If you look at the wrist on the tail and see it is as thick as Tony's Wrist this will give you an idea of just how large that fish is .
It is the fact Sheelin holds many big fish that keeps me going though the blank days and all the more keen to learn as much as i can about this flyfishing lark as this is my first season at trout fishing proper

I think it is just scruffy with age and from all that brings , spawning year in year out and the like ...
Yes i am pleased to say it did go back fit to fight another day

I've seen many bigger Sheelin fish than this and most of them were immaculate. This one is indeed a bit scruffy on the tail and dorsal fin and I'm not sure why - cracking fish though.

Well done that man.

I am not sure to be honest as i heard different things , you know what its like ?? I first heard it was on a spent may pattern and today i was shown the actual fly it was caught on apparantly It was a wulff type job with a red silk body .
