Default Mayfly North of the Border

Not that common a sight on Scottish rivers. Photographed yesterday in East Lothian.

I'd guess the Tyne near Haddington. Seen them there.

Was thinking that as soon as I saw it

Was there anything rising to them?...always found it a dour river with little showing despite decent hatches

In fairness to the trout, I only saw three mayfly in the course of an afternoon and all of those seemed to escape the attention of the fish. They probably didn't realise they were edible!
