Cap'n Fishy will become famous soon enough
Default Lake of Menteith, Monday 18th May

Plenty fish on the go and great sport on dry fly (good conditions and good buzzer hatch), so not just the restocked fish to be had. Had a superb overwintered blue (not the one in the photo - unfortunately, I didn't manage to get a shot of it - the boat drifted into the reeds while playing it and it became a damage limitations exercise.

How could I be an enemy to someone with a handle like "bahbah"..? I've been adopted by Wales and you must have Welsh sheep blood in there somewhere to have a tag like that. Remember, this is a country where men are men and sheep are scared.

bah, bah the noo !

Hi George - long time no see. How you doin' these days? Still worrying troot, no doubt! I asked someone who was going to be fishing with you to give you my regards recently - but I can't remember who it was. Did anyone?

Anyroad - set-up. Canon 40D with various IS lenses, workhorse being a 24-105 mm. All shot in RAW format and developed in ACR 4.3.1. Just PM me if you would like any specifics.

Cheers,

Col

PS: Sorry for the delay in getting back to you - came in on Friday and discovered I had no 'phone line at all, so no internet connection. Took till this morning for BT to send someone out to fix it.

Thanks Colin
Not too technical, even for an amateur like me. You must just have a talent for it.
Think it was Scratch that your memory missed on...... he did pass on your regards when we had a day on Vyrnwy. Now there's a venue for you and your camera in the autumn !
You were off to Malham after that...... would have been nice to have been on that trip but I have few free weekends before the end of august. Maybe next time.
Do you ever hear anything of Adam Marr ? I had a few days out with him when he moved to Southampton but lost touch when he went to the far east.

Take care George

Hi George/

It eventually dawned on me it was Scratch - yep the views of Vyrnwy are icons of fishing imagery - would be good to visit it some day.

Mr Marr moved to Bahrain late 2007, and has recently moved to Oman. He fished Chew with us last year (click on it to get rid of the jaggy diagonals )...

You can catch him on the salmon fishing forum - send a PM to 'Cambusmore'.

Cheers,

Col
