Default Loch Leven Brownie

Hi all

I thought that i would share a photo of the brown trout that i caught on Loch Leven on the 4th of May 2009. the fish weight was estimated at 5lbs and was returned allive to fight another day. Click the image to open in full size.

Good man thats a beauty. I love seeing fish of this caliber being returned to breed again.

I had five or six 4lbs+ trout last year. Since the stocking ceased at leven there are some cracking browns being caught, this was the third fish in the last week that has weighed in at more than 5lbs The more time you spend on the loch the more likley you are to catch a biggie.

i would love to say it was caught on a size 16 dry, but the truth is di7 and a black and red thing that i'd tied th night before

I love the name of the fly you caught on , did it take you long to think of the name Can we see a pic of the "black and red thing"
