Hi All... just a few pics from yesterday's little jaunt. Slate grey skies, barely a breeze to ruffle the water, a day to be fished on the dry...
Fished a club section on the Honddu and Monnow confluence. The low water conditions made life interesting, but the river is still in great shape:
...so are the fish. There was a steady line of rising fish all the way up to and under the bridge. Some of them were real lunkers... I dont know what they have been eating:
I cant remember seeing so many good Spring fish:
The fishing wasn't easy, and many a time I just had to sit around and wait for fish to show themselves. But with river like this to watch tumble by, who cares?
and the fish were worth their weight in Welsh gold:
Tim (TDA) is lyrical, and would describe this bit of water as "an interesting looking little chuckle"...
...and a sneakily placed cast behind those roots
certainly did put a smile on on my face. Another belter...
For whatever reason, and I like to think that much of it is down the effects of the work of the Monnow Fisheries Association over the past 5/6 years, I am enjoying the most exceptional wild trout fishing I have ever experienced. Thanks guys...
